DTA makes application to Carlow County Council for Town and Village COVID-19 Funding – June 2020
Develop Tullow Association CLG has made a formal Expression of Interest to the Local Enterprise Office of Carlow County Council seeking grant aid assistance for Tullow in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Many businesses have been badly affected by the Pandemic and this new fund aims to increase footfall to retailers and to make the town centre safer and more attractive to shoppers.
Keeping these aims in mind Develop Tullow Association CLG applied for funding for the following items:
- Tullow is Open for Business (General Video) – a new 2/3 minute to promote Tullow on social media and remind the public that Tullow is back open for shopping, highlighting free and convenient car parking and quality customer service.
- Tullow is Open for Business (Individual Retailer Videos) – new 30 second videos to promote up to 50 retailers in Tullow on social media.
- Two new compacting bins on The Market Square to replace the existing four bins. The compacting bins will be pedal operated and very convenient for people to dispose of used masks, gloves and handkerchiefs
- New public benches at The Market Square and Inner Relief Road made using re-cycled plastic seating which are easier to clean during the Pandemic.
The above projects are costed at €36,725.
Approval for the successful Town and Village COVID-19 Funding applications is expected at the July meeting of Carlow County Council.
